Having taken just a bit longer than I thought to get around to it, I have finally laid out the table for my refight of the Battle of Gettysburg.
Big Round Top in the foreground with Little Round Top beyond. The Tanneytown Road is visible behind the Round Tops running towards Gettysburg. Plum Run and the edge of Devil's Den are on the left. |
The Codori House on the Emmitsburg Road with Cemetery Ridge behind. |
The Rose Farmhouse with Devil's Den and The Wheat Field beyond. The Round Tops are in the distance. |
The Wheat Field, Trostle Farmhouse and Codori Farmhouse, as viewed from Little Round Top. |
The Leister House behind Cemetery Ridge. |
The Seminary and Hagerstown Road looking towards Gettysburg. |
Evergreen Cemetery behind Cemetery Hill. |

Next I need to work out some slightly slimmed down OOBs to fit to my available forces of 30 Union and 24 Confederate brigades then I'll be good to go.
I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to this!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a couple of weeks before I can start playing so stay tuned!
DeleteSuperb looking table, this will be some game!
ReplyDeleteI hope so Donnie, I’ve been wanting to play this one for a long time!
DeleteA fine looking table indeed Ian…
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the battle.
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly, I'll try not to disappoint!
DeleteThat's ambitious - will be good to see the little guys in action again! Starting on day one ? Is there a map, or whole table overhead shot ?
ReplyDeleteIt is a tad ambitious as the turn record sheets runs to 51 turns over the three days! I will post a full table view with the scenario info next. My plan is to run it along historical lines with a deployment reset at the start of each day. I may also invite audience participation on important command decisions.
DeleteThe one's been coming for some time now, remind me what scale figures and rules are going to be used?
ReplyDeleteThey are 6mm figures from Heroics and Ros mostly painted by my brother and I over 35 years ago. The rules are home grown and aptly named ‘Brother against Brother’.
